In late October, the Family Pyschology department at APAC launched a support group for siblings of benefeciaries.
During three sessions, participants reflected on the role disability plays in the personal identity of teenage siblings. Through this workshop, they placed a focus on self-knowledge and building satisfying family relationships.
APAC, through this project, seeks to make visible the experiences of siblings of people with a disability.
“What we are trying to do is to guide those who have just become a brother or sister to a person with a disability,” said Diego Yael, brother of Sofia. “We want them to know they are not alone in this process.”
